Once you're ready to begin live fulfillment with Kase, there’s one final step you’ll need to complete in your Shopify account to ensure orders automatically flow into our app. Follow the steps below to turn on automatic order fulfillment:
🔧 Step-by-Step: Enable Automatic Fulfillment in Shopify
Step 1:
From your Shopify Admin dashboard, scroll down and select “Settings” at the bottom left corner.
Step 2:
Click on “General”
Step 3:
Scroll down to the “Order processing” section. Under “After an order has been paid”, select:
➡️ "Automatically fulfill the order's line items."
⚠️ Important Notes About Notifications
Do not select the checkbox that says:
✅ “Notify customers of their shipment via email”
While this sounds helpful, selecting this box causes Shopify to immediately send a shipping confirmation—before the order is actually fulfilled or tracking is assigned. Since orders submitted before noon are typically processed by the end of day, customers may receive a confirmation prematurely, causing confusion.
- Once we fulfill the order and assign a tracking number, a real-time fulfillment update is sent back to Shopify. This triggers Shopify to send the correct shipping notification with the carrier and tracking number included.
✅ Our recommendation: Leave the customer notification box unchecked to avoid duplicate or premature alerts.
⚙️ Shopify Settings vs. Kase App Settings
If you enable Shopify’s automatic fulfillment setting, do not enable the “Automatically Accept Shopify Fulfillment Orders” setting on the Kase app integration page.
📌 Only one system should be managing auto-acceptance:
- If using Shopify, manage from Shopify Settings.
